Wireless Internet Access
We are pleased to announce that the Killingly Public Library can now deliver Wireless Internet Access to library patrons in the state of Connecticut and Massachusetts!
Any patron with a laptop or handheld device that supports Wireless-G devices may use their library card to access the Internet here at Killingly Public Library.
Any individual with a library card issued by a Connecticut or Massachusetts public library can access the library's wireless network.
The library's Internet Use Policy and Guidelines apply to wireless Internet access. Please read this policy before accessing the library's wireless network. By signing onto the wireless network you agree to abide by this policy. Copies are available on this website and at the circulation desk.
The equipment that you bring to the library must be ready to access wireless networks. We cannot guarantee the compatibility of your equipment with the library's wireless network, or the reliability of your connection to the network.
We cannot offer to provide you with technical support for your portable devices.
The wireless network is not set up to provide printing. If you need to print, e-mail the file to yourself and sign up for one of our Internet stations to access your e-mail.
Your equipment must be configured to access wireless networks. After connecting to the Killingly Public Library network, simply open your web browser and you will be prompted for a library card number. Provide this, accept the Terms of Use Policy, and you may begin browsing the web. If you do not have an appropriate library card, speak to the circulation desk staff.
Remember that wireless Internet connections are not secure. The library staff cannot troubleshoot your equipment. Printing is not possible through the wireless network.
You are responsible for protecting your laptop or other device with updated security measures, i.e. virus and spyware protection and firewall. You should not be sending passwords, personal or credit card information via the wireless network.
By allowing you to access our wireless network, the Killingly Public Library assumes no responsibility with regards to your equipment, security or data, nor liability for any damages caused thereby.
